Dr. Vivian Mccollum

I have been a Licensed Professional Counselor for over 20 years. I am currently located and licensed in Missouri. I received a master’s degree in general counseling from the University of Missouri-St. Louis and a doctorate in counselor education/ marriage and family therapy from St. Louis University. I have worked with individuals with a wide range of presenting issues including depression, anxiety, poor self-esteem, relationship issues and communication issues. I have four years of experience as a school counselor and director of counseling for a school district in the mid-west. I started a private practice in 1998 and currently work with children, adolescents and their families. I have developed a reputation for working effectively with couples. I also have ten years of experience as a college professor of counseling at several tier one universities.

I practice from a convenience model that includes client-centered, cognitive and behavioral therapies.

I help clients by providing a listening ear to assist them to look at their issues critically and practically. I bring optimism and hope by helping to validate the feelings of individuals who choose to work with me.
