Great to meet you!

I have over 27 years of experience working with children, adolescents, and families across a wide range of settings, including public school systems, therapeutic residential programs, and non-profit organizations. These diverse roles have equipped me with a deep understanding of the unique challenges individuals and families face, allowing me to engage effectively with people from all walks of life. I am deeply committed to helping individuals and families navigate through life’s challenges by offering compassionate support, practical strategies, and evidence-based interventions tailored to each client’s needs.

I hold a Master of Arts in Community Counseling from Argosy University, a Master of Education in Special Education from Grand Canyon University, and a Bachelor of Science from Troy University. In addition, I have earned a marriage and family therapy certificate from Argosy University in Atlanta.

My approach to therapy

I strive to build a positive and collaborative rapport with all my clients through a warm, empathetic, and nonjudgmental approach. My counseling style is integrative, drawing primarily from Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT). Collaboratively we will identify and challenge self-defeating thoughts, increase self-awareness, and develop practical strategies for meaningful change. My focus is to help you recognize your strengths and use them to navigate life’s challenges and improve mental wellness. I believe in empowering you to take small actionable steps toward obtaining your goals by fostering resilience, hope, and personal accountability.

What you can expect from me

During the initial counseling session, you can expect a supportive and welcoming environment where you will be encouraged to share your presenting problems openly and without judgment. During the initial session, we will focus on the following:

  • Discuss your presenting problems, background, and expectations.
  • Review important information about the therapy process, including your rights, confidentiality, and the potential risks and benefits of counseling
  • Explore your goals and hopes for therapy

We will work together to develop a collaborative treatment plan that will guide future sessions. This plan will be tailored to your specific needs and will serve as a roadmap for achieving meaningful progress.
