Great to meet you!

Hello, my name is Walter. I'm a husband, father, brother, son, Star Wars enthusiast, music lover, and licensed therapist who brings both professionalism and heart into my work. I know personally how important family is! I work with preteens, teens, adults, and families navigating family conflict, addiction, trauma, ADHD, anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, borderline personality disorder, oppositional defiance (ODD), parenting challenges, substance use, suicidal ideation, teen violence, and more.

I've been working with teens for nearly a decade and thoroughly enjoy serving families. My experience includes work in psychiatric care, inpatient hospitalization, PHP, IOP, residential care, and outpatient services. I am the Clinical Director at New Visions Recovery Solutions, and I am committed to fostering a supportive, compassionate environment where individuals and families can receive personalized care while working together toward healing and lasting growth.

My approach to therapy

I am someone who genuinely enjoys working in the midst of life's messier moments. If things feel overwhelming or chaotic at home or in your life, I am here to walk alongside you and help you find a path forward. Life is hard and raising a family is challenging. That's okay. I'm here to help.

I have intensive experience working with families, adults, and teens struggling with trauma, addiction, disruptive behavior, personality disorders, parenting, and other high-conflict family dynamics. During our intake, we can explore how I can serve you best! Many of my clients report elevated mood, improved communication, and a greater sense of peace.

I employ a variety of interventions and treatment modalities to accommodate your needs, situation, and readiness for change. For example, I will often use Motivational Interviewing to build rapport, CBT skills to challenge irrational beliefs, and a Family Systems approach to assist with holistic care. I also use Christian Counseling, Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Family/Marital therapy, Strength-Based approaches, and Trauma-Focused therapy.

What you can expect from me

It takes courage to take the first step! It shows great strength that you're willing to ask for help. During our initial session, we can address your concerns and create a plan to address them. We'll talk about what brought you in, what's been weighing on you, and what you're hoping will change.

You can expect a warm, nonjudgmental space where you and your family feel heard and valued. My goal is for you to leave our first session feeling supported, hopeful, and clear about the path forward. I look forward to meeting you soon!
