Great to meet you!

I'm Wayne Gibbs, LPC, M.Div. MA with decades of experience in clinical, residential and correctional settings serving youth, families, and adults. I focus on evidence-based and trauma-informed care-using assessments, CBT techniques and structured group work to help clients build safety and practical skills. I respect each clients' worldview and can integrate spiritual or faith-based concerns when the client chooses, without making faith the centerpiece of care.

My approach to therapy

My approach is practical, strength-based, and trauma-informed: we identify patterns, develop coping tools, and set achievable steps toward change. I use Cognitive Behavioral techniques, grief and trauma interventions, and structured group formats for issues like anger or parenting skills. Sessions combine empathic listening with clear feedback, action-focused homework and ongoing assessment to track progress. If spiritual or faith questions arise, I hold them respectfully and an incorporate them into treatment at your direction towards the accomplishment of your goals.

What you can expect from me

You can expect a calm, direct and respectful clinician who prioritizes, safety, trust and practical outcomes. In crises I deliver timely stabilization, suicide assessment, and coordinate communication with relevant supports or agencies if necessary. I will be keenly attentive and sensitive to your stated goals for therapy. My goal is to agree with you around your perceived needs and ultimately expect more success than you initially imagined.
