Great to meet you!

I work with adults and adolescents facing mental health challenges such as relationship issues, low self-esteem, and trauma. Using an integrative treatment approach with person-centered mindset, I care about and explores each client’s life stories to help them gain insights into their powerful traits and supportive resources. I encourage clients to define mental wellness for themselves, gain clarity, and make meaningful progress toward balance and growth.

Before transitioning to mental health counseling, I earned a bachelor’s degree in engineering in China. This unique background has given me valuable insights into the challenges young adults face when choosing careers and has shaped her approach to therapy. The engineering experiences that focused on structure, balance, and efficiency inform her understanding of human’s inner world and enable me to integrate thoughtful approaches into work while fostering emotional growth. My ability to blend analytical thinking with emotional insights offers a holistic perspective in my counseling practice.

My approach to therapy

I create a welcoming and approachable safe space for the client to enter. In therapy, I provide psychoeducation about the therapeutic process and emphasize confidentiality. I will practice active listening and ask open-ended questions to encourage client to share more and reflect on the stories she is telling herself. I keep gathering key details from her narratives and work collaboratively with the client to explore deeper aspects of her experiences. I focus on helping client expand her inner world by gaining clarity around emotions and uncovering areas that she may have been overlooked. I encourage the client to be creative and guide her to figure out ways of utilizing her strengths and support systems to overcome obstacles and achieve the best for herself. I may also offer specific tools and strategies (i.e. worksheets, videos, journaling, self-care activities) to help client build up practical skills and continue growth out of sessions.

What you can expect from me

  • Client will feel truly seen and heard in a safe, nonjudgmental space where their experiences and emotions are respected and validated.
  • Client will gain a deeper understanding of themselves by exploring the stories they tell and learning how to shift unhelpful patterns through reflection and insight.
  • Client will leave sessions with personalized tools and strategies that support their growth, resilience, and emotional well-being beyond therapy.
  • With encouragement and guidance, Client will learn how to tap into their strengths and support systems to navigate challenges and move toward the life they want.
