Great to meet you!

I am clinical social worker who loves helping others transform through mindfulness and self-acceptance. I have been studying mindfulness and embodiment practices for over two decades. I have experience as a psychotherapist at Austin Mindfulness Center, a psychiatric social worker in the emergency department, and a medical social worker in maternal health. Outside of work, I enjoy music, art, dance, and comparative religion.

My approach to therapy

My primary approach to therapy is mindfulness-based treatment for depression and anxiety, with a secondary focus on working with parts using Internal Family Systems. As a social worker, I am committed to social justice and empowering clients using a strengths-based approach. In addition, I have extensive experience providing grief counseling and supporting survivors of domestic violence. I have a growing interest in understanding and healing intergenerational trauma.

What you can expect from me

Most people find that I am an understanding and non-judgmental listener. I always try and meet my clients where they are - this means that for some clients I might focus on scientific research, for others I might take a more holistic approach, and for others we might explore creative expression in therapy. My hope is that clients leave feeling seen and understood, hopefully with a new perspective, as well as with something practical they can try on their own between sessions.
