Life is messy, and it can feel overwhelming when we can't control the world around us. Often we turn to food, alcohol, drugs, and other unhelpful behaviors to escape the messiness; yet the shit keeps piling up and the cycle continues. Sound relatable?
My specialty is working with adolescents and adults struggling with eating disorders, substance abuse, and trauma with a special interest in working with healthcare providers affected by working on the front lines of COVID-19.
Collaboratively, we will work to identify what's keeping you stuck, and help you move towards living a life that's aligned with YOUR values.
I'm a psychodynamic therapist which means I'm going to challenge you to dig deep and talk about the hard stuff. I know this is a vulnerable thing to ask; many of my clients say my realness helps them be real too. I listen actively, offering practical solutions and techniques to help us better cope with challenges, all punctuated with a sense of humor.
I love what I do. The therapeutic relationship is sacred to me, and is founded in trust, respect, and empathy. My office is a judgment-free zone; I believe our flaws make us human and should be embraced, not shamed.
