Great to meet you!

I have been in the field for over 25 years. Although I specialized in marriage and family therapy, my graduate education as a social worker provided me the desire to really explore the field. I have worked in various environments which I credit to shaping who I am today as a clinician. Prior to solely working in private practice, I enjoyed experience with traumatic brain injury rehabilitation, home health care for medically fragile elderly, and with children and adolescents within a private-therapeutic day school setting. In all of my experience I worked directly with individual clients and their families. I’ve also run various therapeutic and support groups for all ages and really enjoy this as a supplement to individual and family care.

Outside of work,I keep myself busy with my family, friends and my own activities. I am married with two teenagers, a house full of pets we adore, and have recently picked back up my childhood to pre-motherhood competitive sports. I love music, travel, trying new foods, and always making sure to have quiet time to recharge.

A bit about my approach to therapy

My approach to therapy is like being a

guide helping you navigate towards the life you want, using the resources you already have, and understanding how your various relationships play a role.

  1. Rather than focusing solely on the "why" of problems or extensively analyzing past issues, I like to work collaboratively to help you focus is on what you would like to change and how to achieve it. The goal is to build a solution, not just fix a problem.
  2. Since you know your life and experiences best, I truly believe that you are the expert and want to help you gain the self-awareness to believe that too.
    • The role I take is to help you identify your strengths and resources and then use them to create change.
  3. We will collaboratively work to uncover the skills, abilities, and positive qualities you already have that can help overcome challenges.
  4. As a family systems therapist, I understand that you are connected to family, friends, and community, and these relationships influence your well-being. We will also actively explore how these relationships affect both your strengths and challenges, and how changes within the system can help you achieve your goals.
