Great to meet you!

Hi! I'm Whitney, a Licensed Professional Counselor with 3 years of experience supporting individuals through a variety of life challenges.

I earned my Master's in Counseling and Human Services from University of Colorado Colorado Springs and have been working in the mental health field since 2022. I specialize in working with trauma and PTSD, including survivors of intimate partner violence, sexual violence, or other relational wounds (family, friendship, childhood, religion, etc.). Additionally, I support individuals working through anxiety, life transitions, identity exploration, relationship concerns, and stress management.

My approach to therapy

My approach is compassionate, collaborative, and rooted in evidence-based practices. I strive to create a safe, nonjudgmental space where people of all identities can feel heard, understood, and empowered to make meaningful changes. I don’t have a magic wand — and I don’t believe in one-size-fits-all solutions — but I see myself as a resource and a guide, here to support your growth and insight in a collaborative, down-to-earth, and authentic way.

While rooted in a client-centered approach, my therapeutic style often draws from approaches such as Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Internal Family Systems (IFS), mindfulness-based practices, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT).

What you can expect from me

I believe healing involves both honoring and processing the painful experiences of the past, and supporting you in building the tools to navigate life in the present. We’ll work together to gently explore the impact of trauma — not to relive it, but to understand how it may still be showing up in your thoughts, relationships, and sense of self. At the same time, we’ll focus on developing practical skills like boundary-setting, communication, emotional regulation, and self-compassion so you can begin to feel more grounded, empowered, and connected in your day-to-day life.

My approach is rooted in the belief that you are not broken. Your responses make sense in the context of what you’ve lived through. Healing is not about “getting over” what happened, but learning how to carry it with more ease and less shame, while creating a life that feels meaningful and aligned with who you are today.
