Great to meet you!

With nearly two decades in higher education, nine years supporting neurodiverse individuals, three years as a therapist in private practice, and over eight years in prevention counseling and case management, I take a collaborative, supportive approach that helps clients build coping skills, improve communication, and create meaningful change.

I bring a unique perspective through my academic background in both Urban Sociology and Individual and Couples Counseling. My experience in prevention and case management has allowed me to support individuals through crisis intervention, resource coordination, and preventative care, providing a holistic view of well-being.

I hold a Master’s degree in Urban Sociology from Texas Southern University, where I studied how social environments, systemic issues, and community structures shape individual and relational health. I later earned a Master’s in Counseling Development with a focus in Marriage and Family Therapy from Lamar University, training to support individuals, couples, and families through a wide range of emotional, relational, and psychological challenges.

With this dual foundation, I approach counseling with an awareness of both personal experience and social context—understanding that growth and healing happen within both individuals and the systems and relationships around them.

I use evidence-informed approaches to support growth and well-being. CBT helps change unhelpful thoughts and behaviors, Narrative Therapy reframes life stories, Person-Centered Therapy offers a supportive space, SFBT focuses on strengths and solutions, and Strength-Based Therapy builds resilience and lasting positive change. But more than techniques, what matters most is the relationship we build—a space where you can be honest, messy, real, and human.

My approach to therapy

As a licensed counselor, I provide individual therapy consultations focused on self-esteem, grief, anxiety, depression, life transitions, and mood disorders. My clinical style integrates deep empathy with sharp analytical insight—often utilizing data and psychological theory to shape personalized care plans.

I am known for my dynamic energy, strong work ethic, and ability to inspire growth. I’ve dedicated my career to helping clients and students build confidence, navigate life's challenges, and discover their unique strengths to achieve hope, health, healing and restoration through their own willpower.

What you can expect from me

During our first session, we’ll get to know each other and create a safe, supportive space for you to share what brought you to therapy. We’ll talk about your current challenges, explore your goals, and discuss how we might work together. The session is an opportunity to ask questions, clarify what you need, and begin building a collaborative plan for growth.
