Great to meet you!

Hi, my name is William and I specialize in anxiety, PTSD, depression, men’s issues, and life transitions.

I’m a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor who has a strong passion for supporting clients by connecting with heart-centered empathy. I utilize a psychodynamic focus working with the conscious and unconscious aspects of the self, and I incorporate practices of mindfulness, somatic experiencing, guided imagery, and active imagination.

A bit about my approach to therapy

I draw primarily on therapies to include ACT, CBT, DBT, and EMDR, to uncover aspects of clients’ histories and to assist with developing a new narrative and life vision. My approach with you, the client, is to first understand your concerns accurately. Then I work collaboratively to assist you with identifying your overall goal perspectives and to define specific goal objectives that are related to your presenting concerns.

I believe one’s core strength comes from uncovering vulnerabilities and integrating aspects of the self into conscious awareness. I respect each client's therapeutic process and I support them to create the environment they feel most comfortable with in therapy.

What you can expect from our first session

Developing contrast, and then working through blocks, to increase insight, action, and endurance, is a primary focus I utilize. Goals are the structure, or skeleton, so to speak, but adding “substance and muscle,” to build and work toward resolution is integral to my work in therapy. Ultimately, goal setting is essential for change and growth in the therapeutic process.

I believe the the “Mind-Emotion-Body” triad can advance the healing process in many ways and is key to my work in therapy. I like to create a feeling of warmth, and an easy going felt-sense of safety for clients. This connection is relaxed, open, and free flowing.

To close, I’d like to thank you for taking the time to consider me for therapy. I welcome the opportunity to hear your story and work together with you to address your needs and aspirations.
