Great to meet you!

Hello! I’m Dr. William Brock (you can also call me Dr. Bill), and I’m a licensed psychologist in California with over 30 years of clinical experience. I earned my Ph.D. in Psychology from the University of Southern California with extensive training in CBT and other evidence-based therapies. I work with adults facing challenges such as anxiety, depression, substance use, and compulsive behaviors, and I bring a collaborative, practical, and supportive approach to helping people make meaningful change.

My approach to therapy

My approach to therapy is grounded in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), which is a practical, science-based way of understanding how our thoughts, feelings, and behaviors work together. I draw from a range of proven methods, including Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, mindfulness-based approaches, and other helpful tools, to find what fits best for each person. In our work together, we’ll explore how you’re thinking about the situations in your life and, when something isn’t working for you, we’ll look for more helpful and flexible ways of responding. We’ll also pay attention to the patterns and habits you want to strengthen, as well as those you’d like to change, so you can move toward a life that feels more balanced and meaningful.

What you can expect from me

In our first session, we’ll have a relaxed, supportive conversation about what brings you in, what’s been challenging, and what you’d like to see change in your life. Together, we’ll start to identify a few realistic goals and look at how your thoughts, emotions, and behaviors may be influencing what you’re experiencing. My goal is to create a warm, nonjudgmental space where you feel heard and understood, and where you leave with a clearer sense of direction and how we can work together going forward.
