Great to meet you!

I’m Brent, a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor in Kentucky, and I have been practicing since 2004. My passion for counseling began with a deep love for working with children and families, a natural intuition for relational dynamics, and an understanding of how emotional wounds can form and later show up in our relationships. I work with clients navigating family conflict, parenting concerns, relationship issues, trauma, anxiety, depression, grief, life transitions, and patterns that leave them feeling disconnected or stuck. My goal is to create a safe, supportive space where clients feel understood while also gaining insight into how their experiences, relationships, and past hurts may be shaping their current lives.

My approach to therapy

My approach centers on building an authentic connection that fosters trust and creates a strong therapeutic relationship. I believe meaningful change happens when clients feel safe enough to be honest, supported enough to explore difficult experiences, and empowered enough to try new ways of relating to themselves and others. In session, we may work on identifying relationship patterns, strengthening communication, processing emotional wounds, improving family dynamics, building coping skills, and creating a clearer path forward. My style is warm, relational, thoughtful, and grounded. I believe therapy should help clients better understand themselves, heal from what has hurt them, and build healthier connections in the relationships that matter most.

What you can expect from me

In our first session, my goal is to begin building rapport and creating a safe, comfortable space where you feel heard and understood. We will spend time getting to know one another, talking about the concerns that brought you to counseling, and exploring the goals you hope to accomplish through our work together. Whether you are seeking support for family conflict, parenting concerns, relationship issues, trauma, anxiety, depression, grief, or a major life transition, we will begin developing a roadmap for therapy that fits your needs. Together, we will identify priorities, clarify areas of focus, and outline a direction for future sessions that supports your healing, growth, and relationships.
