Great to meet you!

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with experience supporting adults navigating substance use, trauma, life transitions, and emotional stress. As a military veteran, I have a strong understanding of military culture, the transition back to civilian life, and the unique challenges veterans and first responders may face. My clinical work often focuses on substance use concerns, men’s issues, anger, identity, relationships, accountability, and building healthier ways to cope. I bring a direct, down-to-earth, and nonjudgmental approach to therapy, helping clients better understand their patterns while developing practical tools for change.

My approach to therapy

My approach to therapy is practical, collaborative, and focused on helping clients better understand the patterns that keep them stuck. I often use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Motivational Interviewing to explore thoughts, choices, motivation, and barriers to change in a way that feels direct but nonjudgmental. I help clients build emotional awareness, improve regulation, and develop healthier responses to stress, anger, cravings, conflict, and difficult life circumstances. Therapy with me is solution-oriented and action-focused, meaning we will not only talk about what is happening, but also identify tools, strategies, and next steps you can practice between sessions. My goal is to help clients build insight, accountability, and confidence so they can make meaningful changes in their daily lives.

What you can expect from me

In our first session, my focus is on getting to know you, understanding what brings you to therapy, and beginning to build a comfortable working relationship. We will review your background, current concerns, strengths, challenges, and any goals you already have in mind. I will also complete initial assessments to better understand your needs and help identify what may be most useful in treatment. From there, we will partner together to develop a plan that makes sense for your life, feels realistic, and includes clear, actionable next steps. My goal is for you to leave the first session feeling heard, understood, and with a better sense of where we can begin.
