Great to meet you!

I’m a Licensed Social Worker with over 30 years of experience providing mental health services in Northern Illinois and the suburban Chicago area. Since earning my master’s degree, I have worked with individuals, couples, and families facing a range of concerns, including mood disorders, panic disorder, anxiety, depression, and grief. I believe therapy should be a place for fresh starts and meaningful change. My goal is to create a supportive, interactive environment where clients feel heard, understood, and empowered. I’m committed to helping people build practical skills and insight so they can move toward a more balanced, fulfilling, and happier life.

My approach to therapy

My approach is grounded in cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT). I use CBT because research continues to show that it is highly effective for many mood disorders, anxiety, and panic-related concerns. In our work together, I will listen carefully, interact actively, and provide education and practical tools that can help you better understand your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors.

I focus on helping clients learn skills they can use in everyday life, so therapy becomes not only a place for support, but also a space for growth, problem-solving, and lasting change.

What you can expect from me

In the first session, clients can expect a welcoming and supportive space where we begin discussing what brings them to therapy, the challenges they are facing, and what they hope to gain from treatment. I’ll ask questions to better understand your symptoms, history, and current concerns, and we’ll begin identifying goals for our work together. My aim is for you to leave that first session feeling heard, understood, and more hopeful about the path forward. We’ll start building a plan that fits your needs and focuses on the tools and support that can help you make meaningful progress.
