Mr. Kao completed a Master of Arts in Counseling from Houston Baptist University in 2018. Mr. Kao is an Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing(EMDR) trained therapist through the EMDR International Association. Mr. Kao is also a Gottman Method Level 2 certified therapist in couples counseling. In addition, Mr. Kao is a Level 2 certified teacher trainer in the Resilient Minds On The Front Lines mental health curriculum.

A bit about my approach to therapy

Mr. Kao hopes to help clients navigate the challenges of life in a fulfilling and meaningful way. Mr. Kao works with clients on mindfulness, emotional regulation, relaxation techniques, as well as developing communication and coping skills for healthier relationships. Mr. Kao also utilizes techniques from EMDR to help clients heal from trauma and experience new insights that help the client move forward safely.

Mr. Kao focuses on the client’s strengths and helps guide them towards things they can do in the present and in the future.
