Great to meet you!

Bill Martin is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist serving clients in both Texas and California. At InMindOut, he offers individualized therapy rooted in collaboration, empathy, and trust. Bill believes that meaningful therapeutic work begins with a strong connection—and that trust and comfort provide the foundation for real growth. His approach is both structured and flexible, adapting to each client’s unique needs while walking alongside them at a pace that feels safe and sustainable.

With a Master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from Pepperdine University and specialized training in trauma-focused care, Bill brings deep expertise in helping individuals and couples navigate complex emotional experiences. He is trained in Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT) and Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), and also holds an Expert-level Life Coach Certification.

Bill has worked in a wide range of settings, including crisis intervention with at-risk youth and adults, addiction recovery, domestic violence support, and group therapy. He also provides couples counseling and sex therapy. His work is grounded in the understanding that no two people experience life the same way—and that healing and progress are most effective when therapy is personalized, collaborative, and goal-oriented.

My approach to therapy

My work is grounded in evidence-based practice, particularly Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT) and Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT). I take a collaborative, structured approach that helps clients identify patterns, clarify goals, and develop measurable progress toward meaningful change.

Therapy with me is both practical and reflective. We explore emotional experiences in depth, but we also work actively to build skills, increase resilience, and create tangible movement forward.

What you can expect from me

In our first session, you can expect:

  • A clear discussion of what brings you to therapy
  • Identification of immediate goals and longer-term objectives
  • Exploration of relevant personal, relational, and trauma history
  • An overview of how we might work together
  • Space to ask questions and determine fit

My goal in the first meeting is to ensure you feel understood and to begin building a structured roadmap for your work.
