Great to meet you!

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in the state of Texas. I have been in private practice since 2020, primarily working with mental health issues (depression and anxiety) and substance abuse. Prior to this, I worked with kids and families as well as other case management roles, for about 10 years. I have worked with people of all ages and from all walks of life. I enjoy working with just about everybody, and I look forward to getting to know a little bit more about you and your life.

My approach to therapy

I believe the most important aspect of counseling is the trust and bond created between client and therapist. I borrow ideas from many theoretical approaches of counseling, but I consider person centered and cognitive behavioral therapy my foundation. Much of the work I do is based on Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, which stated simply is: if you change the way you think and you change the way you act, you can change the way you feel.

What you can expect from me

A big part of what I believe is that you are the expert of your own life. I see my role as your therapist being to join you on your journey through life and try to provide insight or maybe to just listen. What you can expect from me is an empathetic ear from a person who truly cares about people and the challenges they face.
