Great to meet you!

William D. Stinchcomb, LPCC-S, CDCA (OH), LMHC (FL, MA), LPC (CO) (he/him/his) is an independently licensed counselor in Ohio, Colorado, Florida, & Massachusetts. He has a history of working with and community advocacy for his “queermunity”. Born and raised in Ohio's capitol city, William has had the honor to have a career working in the field of human services providing care to children, adolescents, families, and adults since 2007. William has been a licensed provider since 2011. His passions continue to be the health of the Black men, LGBTQAI+ community, people living with HIV, poly/kink communities, and people working through life transitional issues. When he is not working, you can find William traveling with his partner and/or spending time outdoors at a metro, state, or national park.

My approach to therapy

William is eclectic in his therapeutic approaches as each client requires their own, tailored treatment. William tends to lean towards and/or has some training with modalities based in Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Solutions-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT), and Reality Therapy.

What you can expect from me

William is personable, friendly, and will utilize humor to lighten sessions, if appropriate. William believes it is most important to be honest with clients as absolute truth has no owners. His belief is that truth requires one to be honest with themselves and react accordingly. He recognizes it can be difficult; and it has the ability to allow people freedom to make more honest, holistic choices about their situations. This is done with kindness because truth can also be heavy.

William also believes that everyone deserves to be affirmed in their identity, and it is really important to help people become more aligned with who they see themselves to be.
