Great to meet you!

Xiaofang "Hannah" Ingram is a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC) with nearly a decade of experience in psychiatric care settings, licensed as a PMHNP since 2022. She joined Blacksburg Psychiatry to provide comprehensive mental health evaluation, medication management, and ongoing psychiatric care to patients across the lifespan.

Hannah works with children, adolescents, adults, and older adults, offering a warm, patient-centered approach that supports individuals and families through every stage of the recovery journey. She has gained broad clinical experience across inpatient and outpatient environments before joining private practice.

Outside of her clinical work, Hannah enjoys gardening, cooking, and hiking with her family. She believes that mental health care should be as accessible, compassionate, and grounded in daily life as it is evidence-based — and she brings that philosophy to every patient encounter.

Hannah is currently accepting new patients and sees patients both in person at our Blacksburg office and via secure telehealth throughout Virginia.

My approach to therapy

Hannah believes that effective psychiatric care starts with listening. She takes time to understand each patient's full story — their history, their current struggles, their goals, and the daily context in which they live — before recommending a treatment plan.

Her approach is collaborative and evidence-based. She works with patients to build individualized care plans that combine appropriate medication management with practical, sustainable strategies for daily wellness. She emphasizes clear communication, informed decision-making, and treatment that fits into a patient's real life — not just their diagnosis.

Hannah treats patients across the full lifespan, from children (6 and up) to older adults, and adapts her approach to meet the developmental, emotional, and medical needs of each stage of life. She is particularly committed to accessibility and compassion in psychiatric care, believing that no patient should have to navigate mental health challenges alone.

What you can expect from me

Your first appointment with Hannah is a comprehensive psychiatric evaluation, typically lasting 45 to 60 minutes. This visit is designed to give Hannah a thorough understanding of your mental health history, current concerns, and treatment goals — the foundation for building a care plan that truly fits your needs.

During this session, Hannah will:

  • Review your current symptoms and how they are affecting your daily life
  • Discuss your mental health history, including any previous diagnoses, medications, and treatments
  • Ask about your medical history, family history, and any relevant life circumstances
  • Talk with you about your goals for treatment and what you hope to achieve

Based on this evaluation, Hannah will share her clinical impressions, discuss possible diagnoses, and work with you to develop an individualized treatment plan. This may include medication recommendations, referrals for therapy or additional support, lifestyle strategies, and follow-up scheduling.

You are welcome to bring a list of current medications, previous treatment records, and any questions you would like to discuss. If you are the parent or guardian of a minor patient, you will be included in the evaluation process to ensure care is coordinated and family-informed.

Hannah's goal is for you to leave your first session feeling heard, informed, and clear about the next steps forward.
