Great to meet you!

Hi, I’m Yadira Contreras, LCSW. I’m a compassionate and supportive therapist who believes that seeking therapy is a meaningful step toward creating positive change. I strive to create a safe, nonjudgmental environment where you can feel comfortable being yourself, talking openly, and working through challenges at your own pace.

Life can bring unexpected experiences, transitions, relationships, loss, stress, and moments when it feels difficult to know where to begin. My role is to listen, help you make sense of what you’re experiencing, and work collaboratively with you to develop practical tools that support your emotional well-being.

My approach to therapy

My approach is client-centered, compassionate, and collaborative. I incorporate evidence-based approaches such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), trauma-informed care, supportive therapy, mindfulness, grounding techniques, and strengths-based interventions, tailoring treatment to each person's individual needs and goals.

I believe therapy should not feel like a place where someone tells you what you should do. Instead, I work with you to understand what is happening, identify patterns that may be keeping you stuck, and develop strategies that feel realistic and meaningful for your life.

What you can expect from me

In our sessions, we will work together to identify what you would like to change and establish realistic goals. We may explore how your thoughts, emotions, behaviors, and experiences are connected and identify practical ways to respond differently when challenges arise.

I also believe that progress doesn't always happen in large steps. Sometimes progress looks like getting through a difficult day, setting a boundary, recognizing a negative thought, asking for help, or simply being more compassionate toward yourself.

My goal is to help you develop greater self-awareness, confidence, emotional resilience, and practical coping skills that you can carry with you outside of therapy.
