Great to meet you!

Hola! My name is Yamil and I'm a bilingual counselor based in Augusta, Georgia. I have an MS in Clinical Psychology from Augusta University. I am passionate about life stories, and I will do everything I can to create a space where you can share your story with me and rewrite it how you want to. I am experienced in working with people struggling with trauma, anxiety and depression. Because of my experience I am confident that together we can find balance and achieve meaningful change!

A bit about my approach to therapy

My approach to therapy is a blend of modalities such as Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Internal Family Systems (IFS) and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), among other creativity based interventions. At the core, therapy to me is both about change but also feeling seen and understood. Thus, my approach is one that can cultivate the space necessary for these things to happen!

What you can expect from our first session

I am 100% confident that after each session you will be able to understand yourself better. You can also expect to leave each session with a sense of direction and practical skills to more effectively cope!
