Yarisell Hernandez

I have a background in School Counseling and Community Mental Health, with work spanning along New York City inner schools, colleges, and clinics. Currently, I work with Adolescents, and Adults as they navigate their view of the world, relationships, depression, anxiety, trauma, and various mental health conditions. I enjoy helping those in majority low income and under resourced communities, and am currently discovering my passion for those with first-generation or sibling experiences. I am an avid reader, and have a passion for music, theater, and women's health.

I love helping people become their best selves, as I believe in highlighting strengths and helping others get through effects of negative thoughts and attachments. My approach to therapy is multi-systemic and integrative as I believe that one therapy size does not fit all. I focus on building a relationship with my clients to allow collaboration for treatment goals.

I care about the individual and the multiple systems they come from and are surrounded by that has helped shape them. I am open-minded, honest but kind, and non- traditional in my approach, as I love to laugh and use culturally relevant examples in my practice.
