Great to meet you!

Hello, my name is Yas. I’m a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist with over a decade of experience supporting children, teens, adults, and families through life’s challenges. I earned my Master’s degree from San Diego State University and have worked in schools, community-based nonprofits, and private practice.

As an Iranian immigrant who has also lived in Mexico, I bring cultural sensitivity and lived experience to my work. I understand the complexities of navigating identity, belonging, and integration while honoring your roots. I’m especially passionate about supporting immigrant, bicultural, and historically marginalized communities—including those from the SWANA and Latinx regions.

While I have a deep commitment to serving these communities, my practice is open to people from all walks of life. I strive to create a warm, inclusive space where you feel seen, valued, and safe to explore your story. Whether you’re a parent needing support, a young person struggling with self-esteem, or someone going through a tough season—I’m here to walk alongside you with compassion and care.

My approach to therapy

I draw from a range of evidence-based approaches—including CBT, IFS, Solution-Focused Therapy, and mindfulness—tailoring each session to your specific needs. I have a deep connection to Internal Family Systems (IFS), as it offers a powerful way to explore and care for the different parts of ourselves that hold our emotions, beliefs, and past experiences. This is often paired with cognitive strategies to challenge and reshape unhelpful thought patterns.

My approach is active and practical, offering tools that help you feel more grounded, in control, and empowered in your daily life. Depending on what feels most helpful for you, I may also integrate mindfulness and meditation practices. Your growth and goals are always at the center of our work. Together, we’ll identify what’s getting in the way and develop clear strategies to help you move forward with confidence and clarity.

What you can expect from me

I see therapy as a collaborative space—where I bring clinical expertise and you bring deep insight into your own life. Together, we create a strong partnership focused on what matters most to you. Whether your goals involve improving relationships, building self-esteem, or working through a personal challenge, our work will be tailored to support your growth. As you gain new insights, your goals may naturally shift, and we’ll adapt our approach along the way to ensure it remains meaningful, relevant, and aligned with your evolving needs.
