Great to meet you!

Hello! I'm Yasmine Hatfield, MSN, APRN, PMHNP-BC, founder of Beyond Adversities PLLC and a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner. I primarily specialize in caring for children and adolescents, while also treating adults, and have experience providing psychiatric care across the lifespan. I offer comprehensive psychiatric evaluations and medication management for anxiety, depression, ADHD, OCD, mood disorders, behavioral concerns, emotional dysregulation, school refusal, and other mental health conditions. My goal is to create a safe, supportive environment where clients and families feel heard, respected, and empowered to achieve lasting emotional wellness. I provide telehealth psychiatric care throughout Texas, making quality mental health care more accessible for individuals and families.

My approach to therapy

My approach is collaborative, family-centered, and evidence-based, recognizing that every individual has unique strengths, challenges, and goals. I believe parents and caregivers are essential partners in a child's treatment, and I encourage shared decision-making every step of the way. While medication management is an important part of my practice, I also emphasize education, practical coping strategies, and coordination with therapists, schools, and other providers when appropriate. I have a special interest in supporting children and adolescents experiencing school refusal, anxiety, and other challenges that impact daily functioning and academic success. Above all, I strive to build trusting relationships where clients feel comfortable, supported, and never judged.

What you can expect from me

During your first appointment, I'll take time to understand your concerns, symptoms, history, strengths, and treatment goals so we can develop a personalized plan together. We'll discuss emotional, behavioral, medical, family, and school or work-related factors that may be affecting your mental health and well-being. I encourage questions throughout the visit and believe it's important that clients and families understand their diagnosis and treatment options. Before the appointment ends, we'll review my recommendations, which may include medication management, therapy referrals, school support strategies, or other individualized interventions. My goal is for every client to leave feeling informed, supported, and confident about the next steps in their care.
