Great to meet you!

Hi, my name is Dr. Yemi, and I'm glad you're here! Starting therapy can feel anxiety-inducing, so I strive to create a supportive, comfortable, and judgment-free space where you can feel safe to be yourself and talk about what's really going on. I am a licensed professional counselor and a certified grief and Autism Spectrum Disorder Clinical specialist with over 10 years of experience. With a background in clinical psychology and marriage and family therapy, I specialize in supporting couples facing relational issues, anxiety, trauma, depression, ADHD, OCD, life transitions, postpartum support, grief/bereavement, and family estrangement support. My goal is to meet each client where they are and work together toward meaningful, realistic progress.

My approach to therapy

Part of the therapeutic process is taking time to get to know clients, listen to their lived experiences, and understand what matters most, while using evidence-based practices supported by research. I take a client-centered, collaborative approach, exploring clients' existing strengths, identifying patterns, addressing barriers, and developing practical tools to help them feel more confident in managing their struggles, while providing a supportive and clinically informed environment where clients can make sustainable progress and feel empowered throughout the therapeutic process.

What you can expect from me

Your first session is an opportunity for us to begin creating a foundation for our therapeutic work together. We'll go through your intake form so you can elaborate on what you're experiencing and what you'd like to work toward. We’ll go over what you can expect from therapy and answer any questions you may have along the way. The goal here is for you to leave feeling comfortable, safe to ask questions without hesitation, understood, and confident that we have a plan moving forward.
