Great to meet you!

I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and the founder of Authentic Growth Counseling, a boutique group practice based in Coral Gables, Florida. I work with individuals and couples navigating anxiety, trauma, relationship challenges, life transitions, and identity development. As a first-generation Cuban-American therapist and doctoral candidate, I am especially passionate about culturally responsive care and supporting clients from diverse and high-achieving backgrounds.

My work is grounded in systemic and trauma-informed frameworks. I believe our family systems, attachment experiences, and cultural narratives deeply influence how we see ourselves and how we relate to others. I specialize in relational trauma, attachment dynamics, and working with individuals who appear high-functioning externally but feel overwhelmed internally.

Clients often describe me as warm, grounded, and direct. I value depth, insight, and accountability. Therapy with me is not just about reducing symptoms; it is about increasing self-awareness, strengthening emotional regulation, and creating healthier relational patterns that extend beyond our sessions.

My approach to therapy

My approach is collaborative, relational, and insight-oriented. I integrate systemic therapy, attachment theory, trauma-informed care, and elements of narrative and psychodynamic work. I view symptoms not as flaws, but as adaptive responses to past experiences.

In our work together, we will explore patterns, how they developed, how they show up in your current relationships, and how they may be keeping you stuck. I balance emotional processing with practical tools, so you leave sessions not only feeling understood but also equipped.

For couples, I focus on improving communication, reducing defensiveness, and helping partners move from reactive cycles into more secure, connected dynamics. For individuals, we often work on anxiety regulation, boundary-setting, self-worth, and unpacking internalized narratives.

I also prioritize cultural humility and awareness in the therapy space. Identity, family systems, and generational experiences matter. My goal is to create a space where you feel safe bringing all parts of yourself into the room.

What you can expect from me

The first session is focused on understanding your story and clarifying what feels most important right now. We will discuss what brings you to therapy, your personal history, current stressors, and what you hope to gain from this process.

You can expect a calm, structured, and welcoming environment. I will ask thoughtful questions to better understand your patterns, strengths, and areas where you feel stuck. Together, we will outline initial goals and discuss what therapy might look like moving forward.

My intention is for you to leave your first session feeling heard, grounded, and clear about next steps. Therapy should feel purposeful, not vague. You deserve a process that is thoughtful, collaborative, and aligned with your growth.
