Great to meet you!

As a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner, I specialize in psychiatric diagnosis and medication management for patients of all ages navigating anxiety, depression, mood disorders, and other mental health concerns. I bring 22 years of nursing experience to my practice, giving me a deep, well-rounded understanding of how mental and physical health are connected.

I believe effective psychiatric care starts with trust. I take time to really listen, so treatment plans reflect not just symptoms, but the whole person, their history, goals, and what matters to them most. My approach is collaborative; I want you to actively participate in your care, not just a patient receiving instructions.

Whether you're seeking a first diagnosis, a medication adjustment, or ongoing management, I'm here to provide compassionate, evidence-based care in a space where you feel heard, seen, and respected.

My approach to therapy

My focus is on accurate psychiatric diagnosis and thoughtful medication management. Rather than provide ongoing talk therapy, I concentrate on identifying the root of what you're experiencing and finding the right treatment approach to help you feel better. Sessions are collaborative and centered on your symptoms, treatment goals, and how you're responding to medication over time. I believe you deserve to understand your diagnosis and treatment options clearly, so we can make informed decisions together. For patients who would benefit from talk therapy alongside medication management, I'm happy to work in coordination with a therapist to support your overall care.

What you can expect from me

Your first appointment is a comprehensive psychiatric evaluation, typically lasting 45–60 minutes. I'll ask about your current symptoms, mental health history, past treatments (including any medications you've tried), medical history, family history, and lifestyle factors that may be impacting your mental health. This helps me get a clear, complete picture of what you're experiencing.

Together, we'll discuss a working diagnosis and talk through treatment options, including the risks, benefits, and expected timeline for any medications we consider. You'll leave the session with a clear plan, whether that's starting a new medication, adjusting an existing one, or further evaluation.

Follow-up appointments are typically shorter (15–30 minutes) and focus on how you're responding to treatment, managing any side effects, and adjusting your plan as needed.
