Great to meet you!

I am a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist with over a decade of experience, dedicated to guiding individuals and couples toward healthier, more fulfilling relationships. I hold a certificate in Sex Therapy and Sexual Education from the University of Michigan. I bring a wealth of knowledge and ongoing education to my practice.

Since 2009, I’ve been immersed in the field of mental health, initially focusing on families and children facing severe trauma and mental health concerns. I provided intensive, home-based counseling and community integration services, extending my support to those in need.

My journey evolved as I became a Functional Family Therapist supervisor, leading a team of five therapists in providing brief yet intensive family counseling to adolescents entangled in the court system.

In 2018, I founded Love Choice Counseling, a private practice with a primary emphasis on couples therapy. Within this framework, I help couples navigate a wide array of challenges, including issues of infidelity, toxic communication patterns, diminishing intimacy, emotional intelligence, attachment concerns, and marital satisfaction. Drawing from my background in mental health, I also work with individual clients dealing with depression, anxiety, relationship dissatisfaction, intimate partner trauma, and childhood familial trauma.

As a gay-affirming therapist, I provide a safe and understanding space for LGBTQ individuals, recognizing and addressing the unique complexities they may face in their relationships and personal journeys.

What stands out about me is my ability to help clients slow down automatic patterns, understand what’s happening beneath the surface, and reconnect with themselves and each other in more authentic ways. I view therapy as a space to explore not only what isn’t working, but who you’re becoming—both individually and relationally.

My approach to therapy

My work is deeply relationship-centered, and I support both individual clients and couples. I work with individuals navigating mental health concerns such as mood disorders and anxiety, as well as those healing from relational trauma, including intimate partner experiences and family-of-origin wounds. I also support clients through life transitions such as breakups, divorce, and identity shifts that can impact self-worth, emotional regulation, and relational patterns. In addition, I work with couples seeking to improve communication, repair trust, deepen emotional and physical intimacy, and better understand each other’s needs.

My approach is integrative, trauma-informed, and deeply relational. I draw from Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), the Gottman Method, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), blending these with somatic and mindfulness-based interventions to support healing from the inside out. Clients frequently share that they feel deeply seen, understood, and gently challenged in our work together.

The results of our work often include improved emotional regulation, clearer boundaries, healthier communication, stronger relationship satisfaction, deeper intimacy, and greater alignment with personal values. Clients leave therapy feeling more empowered, grounded, and better equipped to navigate life and relationships with intention, confidence, and compassion.

What you can expect from me

You can expect to leave sessions with practical tools, deeper emotional insight, and a growing sense of self-trust. Whether we’re working on managing anxiety, strengthening your relationships, or healing past hurt, I want you to walk away feeling more grounded and connected—to yourself and to others. Clients often tell me they appreciate my mix of humor, honesty, and heart. We’ll go deep, but we’ll also find lightness along the way. I encourage journaling, reflection, and applying what we talk about in real-life moments between sessions—because that’s where real transformation happens.
