Great to meet you!

I am a dual-certified Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP-C) and Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC) with a genuine passion for helping people feel heard, understood, and supported. I believe mental health care should feel personal and collaborative—not rushed or focused only on a diagnosis.

My approach combines compassion with evidence-based care. I take the time to understand your story, your concerns, and the challenges affecting your daily life. Through comprehensive psychiatric evaluations, thoughtful medication management, and ongoing support, we will work together to create a treatment plan that reflects your individual needs and goals.

My diverse clinical background in behavioral health, adult outpatient care, and critical care has given me a deep appreciation for the connection between emotional and physical well-being. I strive to create a warm, respectful, and judgment-free environment where you can feel comfortable speaking openly and taking an active role in your care.

I am bilingual in English and Spanish and am happy to provide care in the language that feels most comfortable and natural for you.

My approach to therapy

My approach to care is warm, collaborative, and centered around you as a whole person. I believe the best care begins with listening—not only to your symptoms, but also to your experiences, concerns, goals, and what matters most to you.

I take time to complete a thoughtful evaluation and work with you to develop an individualized treatment plan. When medication is appropriate, I believe in careful and evidence-based prescribing, clear education about your options, and ongoing follow-up to make sure treatment continues to meet your needs. I also recognize the important connection between mental and physical health and incorporate that perspective into my approach.

My goal is to create a safe, respectful, and judgment-free environment where you feel comfortable asking questions and actively participating in decisions about your care. Rather than simply treating a diagnosis, I want to build a trusting relationship and help you move toward greater emotional well-being, stability, and quality of life.

What you can expect from me

Your first session is focused on developing a clear and comprehensive understanding of what you are experiencing. I create a warm, respectful, and judgment-free environment where you can speak openly while we carefully explore your symptoms, concerns, and goals.

During the initial psychiatric evaluation, we will review your current symptoms, when they began, how they affect your daily functioning, previous mental health treatment, medical history, medications, family history, sleep, mood, anxiety, attention, substance use, and other factors that may be contributing to how you feel. When appropriate, standardized screening tools may also be used to support the assessment process.

A strong emphasis is placed on careful diagnostic evaluation and differential diagnosis. Rather than focusing only on individual symptoms, I consider the overall clinical picture, including possible medical, psychiatric, medication-related, and lifestyle factors that may be contributing to your concerns.

By the end of the visit, we will discuss my clinical impressions, any recommended next steps or additional evaluation, and treatment options. If medication is appropriate, we will review its potential benefits, risks, and alternatives together. My goal is for you to leave your first session feeling heard, informed, and confident that we have a thoughtful plan for moving forward.
