Diagnosed with ADHD himself, Dr. Patel is deeply passionate about helping both children and adults with ADHD as well as many other mental health illnesses. Dr. Patel interest in psychiatry peaked while doing rotations as a nursing student in St. Louis, Missouri when he found out the struggles many individuals go through to get access to care and how difficult it was to get a psychiatric consult all across the United States.
Dr. Patel takes a client centered approach, each client is individualized and treatment plans are based on specific client needs, symptoms, and illnesses. A holistic approach is looking at a person in their entirety and not just looking at one specific problem, Dr. Patel will provide guidance and tips on how to best help your mental health outside of just taking medication.
Clients should expect to be a part of the treatment plan decision. Dr. Patel believes in empowering all patients to make sound and informative decisions when deciding what is best for their mental health. Clients will have a better understanding of their diagnosis, medication regimen, and side effects to look out for while starting/continuing medications to help with mental health symptoms.
