Great to meet you!

Hello, I’m Yolanda Smith, a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner providing psychiatric evaluation and medication management for adults experiencing anxiety, depression, burnout, and life stressors.

I work with high-functioning individuals who may appear “fine” on the outside but feel overwhelmed, mentally exhausted, or stuck. Many of my clients are used to being the strong one for everyone else and are looking for a space where they can slow down and receive consistent, thoughtful support.

My approach is calm, collaborative, and not rushed. While I prescribe medication when appropriate, I view it as one part of a broader, individualized plan—not the only solution. I take time to understand your experiences, provide clear guidance, and work with you to create a treatment approach that feels both effective and sustainable.

I commonly support clients with anxiety, depression, stress and burnout, and life transitions. My goal is to help you stabilize your mood, reduce mental overload, and feel more in control of your daily life.

If you’re looking for care that is personalized, respectful, and focused on your overall well-being, I would be happy to work with you.

My approach to therapy

My approach to care is collaborative, thoughtful, and individualized. I take time to understand each person’s unique experiences, symptoms, and goals before making treatment recommendations.

While medication can be helpful, I believe it should be used intentionally and as part of a broader plan—not as the only solution. I focus on providing education, exploring contributing factors such as stress and lifestyle, and working with clients to find an approach that feels balanced and sustainable.

I strive to create a space where clients feel heard, respected, and not rushed. Together, we make informed decisions about care, with the goal of improving overall well-being, not just managing symptoms.

What you can expect from me

During your first session, you can expect a relaxed, supportive, and non-judgmental environment where we take time to get to know you as a whole person—not just your symptoms.

We will review your current concerns, history, and what has or hasn’t worked for you in the past. I will ask questions to better understand your experiences, while also giving you space to share at your own pace.

We’ll also begin to identify your goals for treatment and what you would like to see improve. If appropriate, we will discuss treatment options, including whether medication may be helpful, and create a plan that feels comfortable and aligned with your needs.

My goal for the first session is for you to feel heard, understood, and leave with greater clarity about your next steps.
