My approach to therapy

My newest tool in my Treatment Tool is BrainspottingTM

BrainspottingTM (BSP) is at the leading edge of interventions designed to reduce human suffering and promote peak functioning. It is a family of mind/body techniques that are clinically observed to consistently treat a wide range of psychological conditions.

Brainspotting: Mindfulness Based Trauma Treatment

  • This modality is a post modern Somatic Healing that locates points in the client's visual field that help access unprocessed trauma in the subcortical brain.
  • As a Certified Brainspotting Practitioner, I offer a new way to support your mind and body to locate, focus, process and release a wide range of emotionally and body based conditions.
  • Several research papers have been published evidencing change and post traumatic psychological growth. Reach out to me for the links to the latest research

As a Certified Brainspotting Practitioner, I can help you process trauma and release it from your body. BSP can also enhance sports psychology and creativity. Many artists experience a liberation to express free from any blocks.

BSP is a trauma-informed model that considers how trauma affects your ability to regulate the nervous system and connection with others. We create an empathic, attuned containment where you can heal past experiences and even expand creativity.

Brainspotting is a powerful, focused treatment method that works by identifying, processing and releasing core neurophysiological sources of emotional/body pain, trauma, dissociation and a variety of challenging symptoms. Brainspotting is a simultaneous form of diagnosis and treatment, enhanced with BioLateral sound, which is deep, direct, powerful yet focused and containing.

What you can expect from me

IFS-Informed Therapy

Internal Family Systems therapy is a way to help people heal parts of themselves. Yolanda completed the IFS Circle, a 6-month training with Dick Schwartz and his team. After becoming familiar with the model, Yolanda has discovered this to be the most effective therapy stance, especially for treating trauma. It works hand-and-glove with Brainspotting or KAP and allows for clients to discover their multitudinous parts and heal themselves. As Dick says, "there are no bad parts." See Psychology Today for more on this treatment.
