Great to meet you!

I’m Yu Enomoto, a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist with over 18 years of experience in the mental health field. I’ve had the privilege of supporting individuals in diverse settings, including community mental health clinics, outpatient programs, psychiatric facilities, and private practice. Throughout my career, I’ve been honored to accompany people through some of life’s most challenging and transformative moments. I provide compassionate and thoughtful care to adults facing a wide range of challenges, such as anxiety, depression, trauma, grief and loss, and life transitions. I also specialize in cultural and identity-related concerns. As a Japanese therapist with lived cross-cultural experience, I bring a culturally sensitive perspective to my work. I support clients navigating cultural adjustment, acculturation stress, identity conflicts, intergenerational differences, and relationship or communication struggles that often arise in multicultural settings. Whether you’re feeling overwhelmed, stuck, or uncertain about your next steps, my goal is to offer a safe, nonjudgmental space where you feel understood and supported as you explore meaningful change.

My approach to therapy

My approach is warm, down-to-earth, and collaborative. I focus on creating a space where you feel safe, supported, and genuinely accepted just as you are. Rooted in a person-centered, humanistic philosophy, I deeply value the relationship we build and your unique story. Together, we’ll explore how your past experiences, emotional patterns, and relationships may influence how you feel and relate to the world today.

What you can expect from me

In our first session, I’ll ask about the challenges you’re facing and gather some background to better understand your situation. This session is about starting to build trust as we begin exploring what’s going on and how your experiences may be affecting you.
