Great to meet you!

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in New York with more than 25 years of experience in the mental health field. After years of work as a clinical supervisor, I have returned to direct client care, and I am glad to be back. My practice focuses on adults, generally ages 30 and up. Life gets complicated as we get older. Careers, relationships, family dynamics, identity, loss, major transitions. Sometimes you need a space to untangle what is happening and figure out your next step. That is what I offer. I work with adults navigating anxiety, depression, grief, life transitions, parenting challenges, and self-esteem issues. Many of my clients are people who have been managing on their own for a long time and finally decided it is time to get real support. That decision takes courage, and I do not take it lightly. My approach is practical and relational. I do not believe in one-size-fits-all therapy. I want to understand who you are, what matters to you, and what is actually getting in the way. From there, we figure out what will work for you specifically. I have spent years guiding other clinicians in their professional development, which means I understand the therapeutic process from multiple angles. I bring that depth into the room with every client. I see clients via telehealth across New York and can do sessions in English or Russian. I am currently accepting new clients and look forward to connecting.

My approach to therapy

I take a relational approach to therapy. The relationship we build together is the foundation of the work. You should feel heard and respected from the very first session. Practically speaking, I draw on cognitive behavioral principles and psychodynamic understanding. What that means for you is that we look at your current patterns, understand where they come from, and work toward changing the ones that are not serving you. I am direct. If something comes up in a session that seems worth naming, I will name it. At the same time, I follow your lead. You set the pace. You decide what we focus on. My job is to offer perspective, ask the right questions, and help you find what you already know. Years of clinical supervision have sharpened my thinking significantly. My clients benefit from that. I bring real expertise to this work, and I care deeply about doing it well.

What you can expect from me

In our first session, I want to hear about you. Not just the presenting issue, but who you are, what matters to you, and what has brought you to this point. There is no pressure to have everything figured out. Most people walk in not entirely sure what they want from therapy, and that is a perfectly fine place to start. I will ask questions. I will listen carefully. By the end of our first session, you should have a clear sense of how I work and whether it feels like a fit. I look forward to getting started
