Great to meet you!

My name is Yvens J Mortimer. I am a board-certified psychiatric nurse practitioner in New York and Florida. I have worked as a psychiatric registered nurse for over 10 years. I provide compassionate, evidence-based psychiatric care for individuals living with depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, and ADHD. I believe mental health care should be collaborative, culturally sensitive, and deeply respectful of each person’s lived experience.

My approach to therapy

I prefer a positive and holistic approach that goes beyond symptom management. I take the time to understand who you are — your culture, family dynamics, identity, and personal story — so treatment feels safe, personalized, and empowering. Whether you’re navigating mood instability, attention challenges, or emotional overwhelm, my goal is to help you regain clarity, stability, and confidence in your daily life.

Mental illness does not define you. Together, we focus on healing, resilience, and long-term mental wellness.

What you can expect from me

I know how overwhelming it can be when starting psychiatric care. My goal is to make your first visit feel safe, unrushed, and grounded in trust by providing a calm and supportive environment.

I use a comprehensive evidence-based evaluation to understand the full picture because your story matters.

By the end of our visit if treatment is recommended, we will create a plan together. always aligned with your comfort level and goals.

Thank you for the opportunity to serve you.
