Hello, my name is Yvetta Smith, and I am a Licensed Professional Counselor. I specialize in working with clients who experience anxiety and depression. My practice is unique due to my background in ABA, intensive in-home services, mental health skill building, foster care/adoption services, IOP for substance use/abuse and working with multiple diagnoses relating to anxiety and depression. I have 11 years of experience, and I am currently a Doctor of Education candidate.
I encourage individuals by identifying their strengths, negative thinking and behavioral patterns and by exploring and implementing healthy coping skills. I use a direct approach, guiding individuals to pinpoint areas of concern and help develop techniques to help the individual to reduce and overcome problematic patterns. I work best with clients who are looking for direction and are willing to implement strategies to see realistic and positive change.
Clients can expect me to actively listen to identify areas of concerns. I will pinpoint unhealthy patterns and explore and implement strategies that work best for you to change these patterns.
