Great to meet you!

Hello, I began my career servicing individuals with my role of a “caseworker” forty years ago in 1986. With a B.A. in Liberal Arts I was able to help with the emotional and concrete needs of many community members. By 1997 I obtained my Masters In Social Work and immediately after my license. As a LCSW practitioner I have engaged and provided agency/personal intakes, crisis intervention, program development and directorship; Despite gaining managerial experience throughout my career, I’ve done individual therapy, family sessions, couples work and group work. The ages ranged five to seventy eight years old. For the last three years I have been engaging in telehealth therapy servicing individuals, from adolescence to adulthood and couples.

My approach to therapy

Individuals in telehealth therapy may have different problems but have high levels of anxiety in common. Therefore reduction of high anxiety to allow for a rapport to take place is the initial step in working with clients. Therapist “ use of self” can contribute to enormously to the reduction of anxiety as well as pointing anxiety out and addressing it at the on set of session. Establishing of a therapeutic relationship has its own pace while it brings its own stressors, issues, and themes...into the therapeutic process. Once a clear presenting problem is assessed and treatment plan developed weekly tasks will be given and monitored. If high anxiety persist recommendations for breathing exercises at home or during session.

What you can expect from me

I set out to have a safe and comfortable environment to be who one is. To reduce anxious states to the extent of a person being capable of speaking about their presenting themes and respond honestly to therapist”s inquiries. A respectful environment so that the person can feel respected and valued regardless of race, sex or creed...
