Great to meet you!

You shouldn’t have to explain yourself twice to feel understood. I’m Yvette, a licensed psychotherapist and queer woman of color who believes therapy should feel like a space where you can be fully yourself, without judgment and without having to have it all figured out first.

I spent several years working with children and teens before shifting my practice to adults (18+) navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, and life’s many transitions. I also work with LGBTQIA+ clients and strive to create a space where you can feel seen, respected, and genuinely supported. I bring both professional training and lived experience to my work, along with honesty and a practical approach. You don’t have to show up with the right words or a perfect plan. Come as you are, and we’ll figure out the rest together.

My approach to therapy

I believe you deserve a life worth living. With your permission, I’ll work alongside you to build it. I use an individualized blend of therapeutic approaches, including humor, to help you identify your goals, recognize the strengths you already possess, and make meaningful progress. Taking the first step toward therapy can be difficult, and I’m honored to support you as you process, grow, and create a life that feels fulfilling and authentically yours.

What you can expect from me

Your first session is a chance for us to get to know each other and begin figuring out what you hope to gain from therapy. We’ll talk about what brought you in and what you’re experiencing. My goal is to create a space where you can be honest, ask questions, and show up as your full self. Together, we’ll identify some initial goals and a path forward that feels realistic and manageable.
