My name is Zayna and I'm an Arkansas native living in New Jersey. I have been an outpatient counselor for 9 years, with a specialty in trauma. I received my Masters degree in Mental Health Counseling from Southern AR University. I'm very passionate about helping people heal from trauma and reaching their full potential. I'm married with my first child on the way. I love international travel, reading, and board/card games.

I treat a variety of diagnosis but my passion lies in trauma based treatment. I have been trained and/or certified in 3 different trauma techniques, including EMDR. I like to approach therapy from a standpoint of empowering my clients to become the master of their own emotions and situations, as no two people are the same. I do my best to tailor my methods to those that best suit my clients on individual level.

Typical sessions involve discussing current issues and how they are impacting your level of functioning as we work together to identify healthy ways of managing emotions. I will assist you in processing emotions and identifying underlying issues, which typically occur from past experiences. If a trauma history is present, I will help you decrease emotional disturbances to past events by reprocessing traumatic memories in a safe environment.
