Great to meet you!

From the very beginning, you should know that you are more than a diagnosis in my care. I am deeply intentional about creating a space where you feel safe, respected, and truly heard. As a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner with nearly 10 years of acute care nursing experience, I bring both clinical expertise and genuine compassion into every session. My background has trained me to remain calm, attentive, and thoughtful even in complex or emotionally heavy situations, and I carry that same steady presence into my psychiatric practice.

I understand that seeking mental health care can feel vulnerable, intimidating, or overwhelming, especially if you’ve had past experiences where you felt rushed, dismissed, or misunderstood. My goal is to change that experience. I value trust, transparency, and connection, and I take time to understand not only what you’re struggling with, but how it’s impacting your daily life, relationships, and sense of self. I am committed to walking alongside you with empathy, professionalism, and respect throughout your treatment journey.

My approach to therapy

My approach to care is collaborative, patient-centered, and highly individualized. I believe the best outcomes happen when treatment feels like a partnership rather than a set of instructions. I take time to listen carefully, ask thoughtful questions, and explore the full context of your symptoms, stressors, strengths, and goals before making recommendations. There is no one-size-fits-all approach in my practice, and I tailor care to meet you where you are.

I integrate evidence-based medication management with supportive psychotherapy and clear, practical psychoeducation. This means you are always informed about your treatment options and actively involved in decision-making. I prioritize thoughtful prescribing, realistic expectations, and ongoing evaluation to ensure that treatment remains effective and aligned with your goals. Above all, I strive to provide care that feels supportive, empowering, and sustainable — care that fits into your real life, not just a textbook plan.

What you can expect from me

Your first session with me is designed to feel welcoming, unhurried, and supportive. We will take time to talk through what brought you to care, your current concerns, and any relevant personal, medical, or mental health history. This is a space where you can speak openly, ask questions, and feel comfortable sharing at your own pace. My priority is to understand you as a whole person, not just a list of symptoms.

During the session, I will explain my clinical impressions clearly and walk you through potential treatment options in a way that is easy to understand. If medication is discussed, we will review the reasoning, benefits, possible side effects, and expectations together so you feel confident and informed. By the end of the session, you can expect to leave with a clear plan, a sense of direction, and reassurance that you are supported. My goal is for you to feel hopeful, empowered, and confident about moving forward.
