Great to meet you!

Hi, I’m Zeyda, a Licensed Professional Counselor and owner of Destellos De Esperanza Counseling & Therapy.

I work with children, adolescents, and adults navigating stress, life transitions, work overwhelm, relationship challenges, health concerns, grief, and trauma. Many of my clients appear high-functioning on the outside but feel anxious, exhausted, or disconnected within.

In our work together, we create a safe space to slow down, process your experiences, and reconnect with clarity and confidence. My approach is warm, collaborative, and grounded. I integrate evidence-based practices, including EMDR and cognitive-behavioral strategies, while honoring your pace and unique story.

I’m especially passionate about helping clients strengthen communication, regulate emotions, and feel more secure in their daily lives.

If you’re feeling overwhelmed, stuck, or simply ready for growth, therapy can be a space for meaningful healing and lasting change.

Areas of focus include: • Trauma-informed care • EMDR for processing distressing experiences • Stress and anxiety management • Communication and social skill development • Support through life transitions

My approach to therapy

As a Licensed Professional Counselor, my approach to therapy is collaborative, compassionate , and grounded in evidence based practices. I believe meaningful change happens within a safe, trusting relationship where clients feel heard, respected, and validated.

Rather than using a one-size fits all approach, I tailor treatment to each individual's goals, cultural background, strenghts, and life experiences.

What you can expect from me

Our first session is a space to slow down and feel supported. We'll spend time exploring what's been weighing on you, what you've been carrying, and what you hope might feel different. I'll explain about confidentiality and answer any questions so you feel safe and informed. My approach is collaborative meaning we move at a pace that feels steady and manageable for you.

Whether we use EMDR, practical coping skills or deeper insight work, our first session is about building trust and creating a foundation where healing feels possible, not overwhelming.
