Great to meet you!

Zilla Henricksen is a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner and Family Nurse Practitioner dedicated to providing compassionate, evidence-based mental health care to children, adolescents, adults, and older adults. With over five years of experience in outpatient psychiatry, and six years in Family Medicine, she specializes in the evaluation and treatment of ADHD, anxiety disorders, depression, and mood disorders.

Zilla's journey into psychiatry began through her work as a Family Nurse Practitioner. While caring for patients across the lifespan, she recognized that many physical health concerns were deeply connected to emotional and mental well-being. She often found herself drawn to conversations about stress, anxiety, depression, trauma, and life challenges that extended beyond physical symptoms. She realized that helping patients achieve lasting wellness required addressing the mind as well as the body.

This realization inspired her to pursue advanced training in psychiatric mental health. Today, she is passionate about helping individuals navigate life's challenges, improve their emotional well-being, and discover their strengths. She believes that mental health care is not simply about managing symptoms, it is about empowering people to live fuller, healthier, and more meaningful lives.

My approach to therapy

Zilla's approach to treatment is collaborative, compassionate, and patient-centered. She strives to create a safe, supportive environment where patients feel heard, respected, and understood. Whether working with a child struggling with ADHD, an adolescent facing emotional challenges, an adult managing anxiety or depression, or an older adult coping with life transitions, Zilla partners with her patients to develop personalized treatment plans that align with their goals and values.

What you can expect from me

Patients often describe feeling overwhelmed, exhausted, isolated, or discouraged before seeking help. One of the qualities Zilla is most proud to bring to her practice is her ability to listen deeply and see the whole person behind the diagnosis.

Zilla is committed to helping them find hope, clarity, and confidence as they work toward healing and recovery. She believes that meaningful therapeutic relationships are the foundation of effective mental health care.

Through every stage of life, Zilla's goal is to provide thoughtful, compassionate care that helps individuals and families achieve emotional wellness, resilience, and lasting personal growth.

Outside the clinic, Zilla enjoys maintaining a healthy balance between her professional and personal life. She is an avid ballroom dancer and finds that dancing allows her to enter a different mindset and recharge after a long day of caring for patients. She also enjoys playing golf and spending time outdoors. Her faith plays an important role in her life, and she remains actively involved in her church community, where she finds purpose, connection, and encouragement.
