Great to meet you!

I’m a licensed Clinical Professional Counselor with experience helping adults navigate anxiety, depression, stress, major life transitions, and substance-related concerns. I earned my Master of Arts in Mental Health Counseling from Northwestern University and am licensed to practice in Nevada and Illinois. I am also a National Certified Counselor and Certified Advanced Alcohol and Other Drug Counselor.

Life can sometimes feel like a relentless storm when stress, anxiety, or major changes start piling up. The weight of it all can leave you feeling stuck, emotionally drained, or uncertain about what to do next. My approach to therapy is collaborative, compassionate, and grounded in evidence-based practices. Together, we’ll work to gain clarity, strengthen coping skills, increase self-awareness, and take meaningful steps toward lasting change.

Like golf, therapy is a process of staying present, learning from challenges, and building skills one step at a time. I believe therapy is about more than managing what is happening today; it is also an opportunity to pause, reflect, and reconnect with yourself. It’s not about perfection, but progress—each step, no matter how small, can move you closer to a more balanced and fulfilling life.

My approach to therapy

My style is warm, collaborative, solution-focused, affirming and practical. I believe therapy works best when clients feel heard and supported while also being encouraged to look at patterns, consider new perspectives, and practice skills that can create meaningful change. I meet clients where they are and tailor treatment to their individual needs, goals, and strengths.

I work primarily with adults experiencing anxiety, depression, stress, life transitions, and substance-related concerns. Depending on your needs, I incorporate approaches such as cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), motivational interviewing, mindfulness, and solution-focused strategies. Our work may include identifying unhelpful thought patterns, strengthening coping and communication skills, setting healthy boundaries, and developing practical strategies you can use between sessions.

I see therapy as a partnership. I’ll provide support and guidance, but I’ll also encourage you to take an active role in your growth. We’ll focus on progress rather than perfection and build on the changes that help you move toward the life you want.

What you can expect from me

I strive to create a supportive, nonjudgmental environment where clients feel comfortable being themselves, talking openly about their concerns, and working at a pace that feels manageable. Together, we identify realistic goals based on what matters most to you and regularly look at the progress you are making.

Goals may include reducing anxiety and stress, improving coping and communication skills, setting healthier boundaries, increasing confidence and self-awareness, managing life transitions, or developing healthier responses to difficult thoughts and emotions. I want clients to leave therapy with practical tools they can use in everyday life and a greater sense of confidence in their ability to navigate challenges independently.

Progress does not have to mean perfection. My goal is to help you recognize meaningful changes—even the small ones—and build on them over time.
