Great to meet you!

Hello! I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist #163945 working through her practice, Metal for Your Mental Health, a therapy service with a focus on metal and rock-related music.

I am trained in person-centered, DBT, CBT, attachment-focused, and play therapy models. My previous work experiences involve working with adults and teens with trauma, school-based early intervention therapy services in Title I schools, offering parent coaching and case management services, leading Triple P level 2 seminars, and leading and organized community-based groups for children and teens over summer breaks.

Metal for Your Mental Health is a 501c3 Therapy Practice that utilizes the strengths of metal and rock-related music to promote client's strengths and community building. Music can be a powerful tool to promote insight, build on coping skills, and utilize in social settings. Regardless of your particular music interests, if this concept speaks to you, please don't hesitate to reach out.

My approach to therapy

I believe in meeting people where they're at, with their interests and strengths in mind, and all while allowing the client to lead the way. Therapy is hugely relationship-based and that is most important to establish first. Goals and progress only come after genuine connection is met.

What you can expect from me

During our first meeting, we will complete all necessary paperwork to ensure informed consent is met and the bare bones basic information is acquired. I never want a client to feel that they have to share too much of themselves before getting to know me as a therapist, so we will leave room for a "temperature check" to see or determine when we will know if we are a good fit.
