Great to meet you!

Hello, I am glad you found your way to me. I have a Ph.D. in Counselor Education and have written several academic articles on relational issues. I work with people who are feeling stuck, anxious or even desperate in thier relationships. Many people who have these kinds of concerns feel that they are the "only one(s)" that struggle with relational difficulties. Be assured that if you are having relational difficulties you are not the only one(s) to expereince these kinds of struggles, and you are welcome in my practice.

My approach to therapy

I practice depth-oriented psychoanalytic psychotherapy. This means I help people understand the thoughts, feelings, and habits of relating that they’ve developed over time, and how these patterns affect their mood, relationships, and overall sense of well-being. Together, we look beneath the surface to make sense of what’s happening inside, so that you can gain an increased sense of clarity, autonomy and steadiness in your life.

What you can expect from me

In our first meeting, I’ll spend time getting to know you and understanding what brings you to therapy. We’ll talk about what’s been happening recently, the main concerns you’d like help with, and a bit about your personal history—such as important relationships, family background, and significant life experiences. This helps me see how your current situation fits into the larger picture of your life.

I may ask some questions to clarify details, but there’s no need to prepare or tell things in a particular order. The goal is simply to begin understanding how you think and feel about your experiences. Together, we’ll also go over how therapy works—confidentiality, session times, and what you can expect from the process. The first session is really a chance for you to share your story and for us to decide whether this approach feels like a good fit for you.
