Great to meet you!

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) with over 12 years of experience in the mental health field. I completed my Master's degree in Social Work at Smith College School for Social Work. I received training in an array of clinical interventions, including psychoanalytic approaches, Eye-Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), and dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT). However, I am best known for my creative and flexible integration of skills, providing effective approaches tailored to each client. I appreciate that addressing life’s challenges can be uncomfortable, especially with someone you don’t know. I am committed to supporting you in your journey. If you are highly motivated to improve your relationship with yourself, and those around you, schedule an appointment with me today.

My approach to therapy

As a clinician, I feel my greatest strengths are my realness, flexibility with approaches, commitment to your process, and prioritizing of the therapeutic relationship.

I work best with highly motivated clients who are aware of their goals, curious about their barriers, and open to collaboration. Individuals who are receptive to gentle-challenging and feedback coupled with compassion, validation, and encouragement, are a great match for my therapeutic style. I also thrive with clients who are interested in learning more about themselves and how they show up in each area of their lives.

What you can expect from me

Clients can expect their first session with me to focus on getting to know them since I believe the therapeutic relationship is the most important part of therapy. Some examples of things we might discuss include their strengths, challenges, goals, supports, preferred activities, as well as their history with, and perception of, therapy.

Thereafter, sessions will be guided by a combination of what feels important to the client in the moment, as well as continuing with deep-rooted work. As growth occurs at the edge of our comfort zone, clients can expect to feel a manageable level of discomfort, which will be navigated collaboratively.
