Great to meet you!

Hello! Aside from my professional experience as a licensed counselor, I have +10 years various experience with children, adolescents, and adults in areas of behavioral therapy (ABA), grief and loss, anxiety, suicide awareness/prevention, disabilities and daily living skills, art/play therapy, and ASD. I am passionate about mental health, arts and education, and animals.

I hold an M.A. from Oakland University in Clinical Mental Health Counseling, and I am here for the challenge with you. I am dedicated to assisting clients to overcome struggles and strive towards success, in whatever form that it may take.

My approach to therapy

As a mental health professional, I believe in creating a safe and genuine environment for a client to be free to acknowledge their most vulnerable self, without judgment. The client-counselor relationship is unique and collaborative, therefore the significance of a trusting bond cannot be overemphasized. I believe that the therapeutic relationship grows organically, with time, and at the client’s pace. Each client is unique, so I integrate approaches best suited to the individual and the situation–Psychodynamic, CBT, Solution Focused, Narrative, and Mindfulness–but at the core of therapy is self-exploration.

What you can expect from me

During the first session, we will discuss your personal history and the reasons you are currently seeking couseling. We’ll set several therapeutic goals together, and explore paths for meeting those goals. In addition, we will review HIPAA, your role as the client, and my role as your counselor. This will be a joint effort!
