Great to meet you!

Dr. Afolayan has over 10 years of experience helping individuals navigate life’s challenges and build meaningful change. Her private practice is rooted in compassion, evidence-based care, and a deep respect for each person’s individual life experiences.

My approach to therapy

She specializes in working with emerging adults transitioning to adulthood and adults facing issues such as anxiety, depression, trauma, relationship difficulties, and life transitions. Her therapeutic approach integrates cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), behavioral activation, acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), and mindfulness-based techniques, all tailored to meet the specific needs of each client while encouraging resilience.

In working with clients, Dr. Afolayan strives to create a safe, empowering, and nonjudgmental space where individuals can explore their thoughts and emotions, gain awareness and insight, and develop practical tools for growth and enduring change rather than temporary fix. Whether seeking support for a specific concern or looking to deepen self-understanding and self-love, she is here to walk alongside clients with empathy, compassion, and expertise.

Dr. Afolayan holds a doctorate in Clinical Psychology from Antioch University New England in Keene, NH. She has received advanced training in ACT for Depression (ACT-D), Written Exposure Therapy for PTSD, Unified Protocol for Obsessive Compulsive Disorder, and Telehealth certifications. Her practice incorporates ongoing psychological assessments to monitor progress and outcomes. She brings cultural sensitivity to her work in both assessment and intervention, believing that mental health care should be accessible to all. She welcomes individuals from all backgrounds and is committed to fostering an inclusive and trusting environment. Visit our website at www.mindspacepsych.com.
