Great to meet you!

I am a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner with more than 10 years of experience caring for individuals with mental health and behavioral health needs. My background includes extensive experience in psychiatric nursing, behavioral health, crisis care, medication management, patient education, and interdisciplinary treatment planning.

I have worked with individuals experiencing a wide range of mental health concerns, including mood and behavioral symptoms, severe and persistent mental illness, substance-related concerns, and other psychiatric conditions. My goal is to create a safe, respectful, and supportive environment where you feel heard and involved in your care.

I believe mental health treatment should be individualized. I work collaboratively with each client to understand their concerns, identify treatment goals, and develop a plan that supports improved mental health and overall well-being.

My approach to therapy

My approach to care is compassionate, collaborative, and individualized. I take time to understand your symptoms, concerns, medical and psychiatric history, life circumstances, and personal goals so that we can develop a treatment plan that fits your unique needs.

I use evidence-based psychiatric care and shared decision-making when discussing treatment options. When medication is part of your treatment plan, I focus on careful medication management, ongoing monitoring, education about benefits and potential side effects, and adjustments based on your response and goals.

I also believe that education and open communication are important parts of treatment. My goal is to help you better understand your mental health, feel comfortable asking questions, and take an active role in decisions about your care. When appropriate, I collaborate with therapists and other healthcare professionals to support a comprehensive approach to treatment.

What you can expect from me

During your first session, you can expect a welcoming, respectful, and nonjudgmental environment where you have the opportunity to discuss what has been affecting your mental health and what you hope to achieve through treatment.

We will review your current symptoms, psychiatric and medical history, medications, previous treatments, family and social history, and any other factors that may be affecting your well-being. I will also take time to understand your concerns, answer your questions, and discuss possible treatment options.

By the end of the initial visit, my goal is for us to have a clearer understanding of your needs and to begin developing an individualized treatment plan together. Depending on your situation, this may include medication management, education, supportive strategies, referrals, or coordination with other members of your healthcare team. I want you to leave the session feeling heard, informed, and comfortable with the next steps in your care.
